Waverly class of ’75 spends 50th anniversary building a home

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Waverly High School graduating class of 1975 got together this week for their 50th anniversary, and while there’s been a lot of catching up, what makes this reunion special is the gift of housing that they’re giving to one Lansing couple.

This week, the class of ’75 is building a home through Habitat for Humanity. They hope it will be ready to move into by February.

27 members of the class were there Monday, taking the first steps toward that goal. Judy Peterson, a member of the class of ’75 who lives in mid-Michigan, said some of them haven’t seen each other since high school.

That’s not the only reason this project is special. All the measuring, carrying and hammering will give one Lansing couple a new place to call home…
