LANSING, Mich. — Educators from across Michigan gathered in Lansing on Wednesday, calling on lawmakers to approve what they describe as a “quality budget” that invests $2.1 billion in K-12 and higher education as the state’s budget deadline approaches.
Union leaders and teachers said without new funding, students could lose access to free breakfast and lunch, counseling programs, and special education resources.
