More than a forecast: Young man with down syndrome spreads joy through weather updates

HASLETT, Mich. — October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, a time to celebrate the abilities and contributions of people with Down Syndrome in a spirit of inclusion and respect.

One young man in Haslett, Mich. embodies what the month is all about, delivering joy and positivity through his daily weather updates.

CJ Riemer, 20, is the face of WCJR Weather, a social media account that started during the pandemic as a unique way to work on his speech.
