MSU cuts 99 positions as part of efforts to address general fund deficit

EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State University (MSU) eliminated 99 positions as they address a general fund deficit.

Units across campus were directed to find 6% savings in the current fiscal year, as well as plan for 3% savings next fiscal year. Nearly two-thirds of the cuts were proposed across supplies, services, and other non-personnel expenses.
