Body in Red Cedar River was ‘world-class’ violist, MSU student

EAST LANSING, MI – A Juilliard-trained violist and doctoral candidate at Michigan State University has been identified as the woman whose body was found in the Red Cedar River near MSU’s campus.

Meagan Elizabeth Turner, 32, of Toronto, was identified as the victim. Her body was found in the river, just east of Cedar Village, on Oct. 13, the East Lansing police chief said.

Investigators do not believe foul play was involved. Results of toxicology tests are pending…
