Man arrested in I-64 pursuit ending in Marmet crash

MARMET, W.Va. (WOWK) — Emergency crews are working to extract a man from his vehicle after a high-speed pursuit ended in a crash on I-64 Monday evening.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said in a release that a BOLO was issued for a vehicle that nearly struck a Charleston Police cruiser while travelling the wrong way through the city, and also reportedly came close to hitting a man and woman near Hunt Avenue.

The truck was found moving east on Kanawha Boulevard and a pursuit was initiated. The chase passed by Daniel Boone Park as the suspect truck sped into oncoming lanes toward the I-64 entrance to Belle. Near Marmet, the suspect began driving on the shoulder, which forced other vehicles off the road…
