LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The Great Lakes experienced a waterspout outbreak at the end of October, with 89 waterspouts reported between Oct. 21 and 26. This outbreak happened during the time of year where waterspouts are more common.
Wade Szilagyi, director of the International Centre for Waterspout Research, said the Great Lakes has the largest waterspout outbreaks in the world.
