The City of East Lansing, Michigan, will hold its annual Downtown Tree Lighting event on Saturday, November 22. The event will take place at Ann Street Plaza, at the intersection of Albert and M.A.C. avenues. Activities will run from 5 to 7 p.m. The tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m.
The event will feature horse and pony rides. Characters from the movie ‘Frozen’ will be present. Each household can receive one complimentary Downtown East Lansing ornament, while supplies last. Foster Coffee Co. will provide hot chocolate and coffee. Additional seating and heating will be available at the plaza.
The East Lansing Downtown Management Board (DMB) organizes the event. Local businesses, including Recharged Pilates, Douglas J. Aveda Institute, Financial Technology Inc., and Mac Men Computer and Phone Repair, sponsor the event. The DMB will also launch a Buy One, Get One (BOGO) promotion for downtown East Lansing eGift Cards. A total of $7,500 is allocated for this promotion.
