Make an Impact: Helping souls and soles one pair of shoes at a time

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -As winter weather moves in, many Michiganders will be breaking out their winter gear, including boots. But, not everyone has the means to have shoes and boots to keep their feet warm.

That’s where the nonprofit Footprints of Michigan steps in, providing more than 20,000 pairs of free footwear each year to people in need.

“We think about coats, we think about food, we think about some of the other necessities, but rarely is socks and shoes the focus of outreach,” said Petra Smith, Director of the Charles Terry Food Pantry at Antioch Church…
