OWOSSO, Mich. (WILX) – The North Pole Express is one of Michigan’s most famous trains. For over two decades, it’s brought holiday cheer to all who have had the chance to ride it.
The sounds of the train heard in the 2004 film “The Polar Express” came from the steam locomotive Pere Marquette 1225, which is located in Owosso. Every year, the Steam Railroading Institute brings the story to life, taking those who believe on an immersive train ride.
