LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Ingham County Circuit Judge Wanda Stokes sentenced Dennis Whaley to a minimum of 35 years and four months for the murder of Christine Cambric and Jason McKenzie.
On April 18, 2024, Cambric, 50, and McKenzie, 53, were found in a home in the 500 block of Woodrow Ave in Lansing.
After three days of searching, police found Whaley and arrested him in Crego Park in Lansing. He was 51 years old at the time of the arrest.
Whaley, who is now 53, was convicted of the following charges by an Ingham County Jury on September 24, 2025:
- Two counts of second-degree murder
- Two counts of felony firearm
According to the Ingham County Prosecutor, Whaley was sentenced to 33 years and four months for the homicides and a two-year consecutive sentence for felony firearm, including time served. He will be eligible for parole in 2059, when he would potentially be 87 years old…
