Child patients at Sparrow surprised with holiday gifts

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Children staying at the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Hospital were surprised with a mountain of holiday gifts Tuesday, with the hospital’s playroom being decked out with Santa, decorations, and toys—lots of toys.

“The toys are never ending,” said Ashley Wardford, program director for The Bottomless Toy Chest, a non-profit organization.

Wardford played the role of Santa’s elf Tuesday, delivering new and un-used community-donated toys to children at the hospital.
