EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The city of Ovid is filing a motion to dismiss the lawsuit against its police chief, Lisa Rousseau, who is being sued by a former officer from the Ovid Police Department.
Former officer Jaclyn Allen alleges Rousseau made false statements about her, including that she resigned while under investigation. The lawsuit alleges that the police chief filed an affidavit with the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES), which licenses police officers in the state, stating that Allen resigned while under investigation.

In the lawsuit, Allen states she was unaware of any investigation at the time of her 2023 resignation, which occurred after she had spent just over a year in the police force.
