Lansing police warn of jury duty scam targeting residents

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – The Lansing Police Department is warning the public about a new scam targeting residents.

Police said scammers are posing as law enforcement officers and telling victims they failed to appear for jury duty. The caller then threatens arrest and instructs the victim not to contact police.

According to police, the scammer demands that victims deposit up to $10,000 in cash into a Bitcoin ATM and may send a fake arrest warrant with the victim’s name on it…
