LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Ahead of upcoming harsh winter weather, the City of Lansing is once again activating its Code Blue cold weather emergency plan due to forecasted overnight conditions being “extremely cold.” If you need shelter, call 211.
The Code Blue will remain in effect during the overnight hours, running from 7 p.m. Monday, to 7 a.m. next Tuesday.
Code Blue allows local shelters to increase capacity and alter hours temporarily during harsh winter weather. In addition, the Capital Area Transportation Authority will provide free rides to warming shelters for those in need, as will Lansing police and fire units.
