Man dead after police shooting in Eaton Rapids

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Eaton Rapids Police Department (ERPD) has confirmed a 30-year-old man is dead after a police shooting Tuesday night.

According to ERPD, officers attempted to pull over a car on Main Street. The car did not stop and crashed near the intersection of N. Main Street and Canal Street. Officers reported that both the 30-year-old suspect and a woman ran away from police.

Police say the suspect refused to listen to commands and told officers he had a gun. Shortly after the suspect was shot and taken to the hospital for his injuries, he was later pronounced dead. The woman passenger was found a few blocks away.
