Michigan Minimum Wage, Unemployment Benefits Rise with New Year
Michigan’s minimum wage rose to $13.73 an hour on Jan. 1, 2026, up from $12.48, under a state law that sets an annual schedule of increases.
The Michigan’s Improved Workforce Opportunity Wage Act also raises the minimum wage for tipped workers to $5.49 an hour, provided the employee receives at least $8.24 in tips.
