Weather alert announced for freezing rain in 11 Michigan counties until early Monday morning

A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Monday at 12:51 a.m. EST for freezing rain until 4 a.m. EST for Muskegon, Montcalm, Gratiot, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allegan, Barry, Eaton and Ingham counties.

“Freezing rain has been observed for areas south of the advisory and north of the I-94 corridor. With temperatures below freezing expect a glaze of ice to accumulate on surfaces. Freezing rain is expected to last 1 to 3 hours over any one location. A light glaze of ice is expected with icy conditions potentially lingering for the Monday morning commute,” comments the weather service…
