LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — On May 15, 2024, Damarion McCall stood before Ingham County Circuit Court Judge James Jamo on charges stemming from a high-speed chase in a stolen black Dodge Durango on Dec. 23, 2023. Jamo sentenced McCall to one day in jail – with time served – and 24 months’ probation.
12 days later, on Memorial Day, Ingham County prosecutors claim McCall opened fire in a park on Riverfront Drive in downtown Lansing, leaving one man dead and six others injured.
McCall was charged on Dec. 28, 2025, with multiple felonies stemming from that shooting, including open murder. He also has been charged as a third–time habitual offender.
