Multi-county police chase ends with crash, driver’s arrest in Dansville

DANSVILLE, Mich. (WILX) – A man is in custody after a police chase that began in Livingston County and ended with a crash in Dansville Tuesday afternoon.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office says shortly before 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 6, a deputy spotted a driver in a red Chevy Silverado speeding in the area of Grand River and Nickelson in Handy Township.

When the deputy tried to initiate a traffic stop, the driver — who was not wearing a seat belt — sped away. The chase reached speeds near 100 mph as he led deputies through Webberville and Dansville, according to the sheriff’s office…
