LANSING – A chocolatier who operates a destination dessert shop tucked away on Park Lake just north of East Lansing plans to transform a vacant building in Old Town into a chocolate factory and cafe.
Konstantin Zsigo bought the approximately 8,000-square-foot vacant building at 527 E. Cesar E. Chavez Ave. in the spring of 2025. When it’s renovated, he’ll have a place to produce artisanal chocolates where customers are welcomed and can watch the staff at work.
It’s the next step for Zsigo’s chocolate operation, which has been based in a 600-square-foot second-story kitchen at Park Lake Creamery for the last eight years. The shop serves ice cream, Zsigo’s chocolate, specialty coffees and offers boat rides…
