Michigan officials, survivors address human trafficking challenges

LANSING, Mich. (WNDU) – Michigan law enforcement, survivors and state leaders came together in Lansing to address the ongoing issue of human trafficking across the state.

Officials said progress is being made, but challenges remain in combating trafficking statewide.

Trafficking is currently a 10-year felony in Michigan. According to our sister station WILX, a bill working to double that sentence is stalled in the state legislature…
