CATA working to expand fare payment options

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Capital Area Transportation Authority is currently working on expanding its fare payment options, and the transit agency wants riders to know all the ways you can pay to ride.

While CATA vehicles take cash, physical passes, and mobile pay via the Transit and CATA Mobile Pay apps, the transit agency says they have implemented more ways to pay if those methods don’t work for you.

You can tap your debit or credit card and use Apple Pay or Google Pay to purchase fare, meaning you no longer need to worry about carrying change or making sure you have CATA-specific passes if you don’t want to…
