SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) – A Bancroft teenager, at just 17 years old, has achieved a remarkable feat by earning nominations to four U.S. military academies—an honor that broadens prospects for her future.
Rachel McPherson was in the airport on her way to vacation when she received an exciting phone call from Congressman Tom Barrett last December.
“He’s like, ‘Yeah, I nominated you for all the academies.’ I was like, ‘What? You nominated me for all of them?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, good job. You’re such a great interviewee.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, thank you so much,’” McPherson said…
