Man sentenced for shooting Lansing police officer with their own gun

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WILX) – A Michigan man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The charges stem from an April 2024 incident where the suspect shot a Lansing police officer with their own weapon.

On April 10, 2024, Lansing police officers conducted a traffic stop in the rear parking lot of an apartment complex near the intersection of Holmes Road and Pleasant Grove Road.
