LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Former Eaton County Sheriff Rick Jones was arrested Saturday night by the Michigan State Police for operating under the influence.
Jones said he was arrested by the Michigan State Police following a one vehicle crash. He told 6 News he swerved to avoid a deer and ended up crashing into a decorative rock. His airbag deployed he said, causing a bloody nose.
“And my statement is everybody makes mistakes,” Jones said. “I’m human too. But I was very cooperative with the state police and was punished like anybody else would be. And I really have nothing more to say about that.”
Jones said he spent the night of Feb. 7 and morning of Feb 8 in the Eaton County Jail. He did not discuss what, if any bond, he had to pay to be released…
