East Lansing, Mich. – Battling strong winds throughout two rounds of play on Sunday, Michigan State’s women’s golf team is in ninth place among 15 teams following the first day of play at the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational, being played on the Palm Aires Champions Course (par-72, 6,191-yards) in Sarasota, Fla.
The Spartans shot a 20-over par 308 in the opening round and followed it up with a 18-over par 306 in the second round to finish the day at 38-over par 614 (308-306).
