Sandra Seaton’s ‘Sally: A Solo Play’ about Sally Hemings to premiere at Wharton

To help celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Wharton Center is producing a play by local playwright and librettist Sandra Seaton.

“Sally: A Solo Play” is a dramatic one-woman play about Sally Hemings, who is believed to have given birth to two children fathered by Thomas Jefferson. The play, which will be a world premiere, will run Feb. 19-21 at Wharton’s Pasant Theater.

In the starring role is Sabrina Sloan, who played Angelica Schuyler in “Hamilton” on Broadway. The play is directed by Hannah Ryan, a resident director of “Hamilton”…
