The DeWitt Farmers Market has been a cornerstone of the community for two decades, but until now, it has always been set up right in the middle of the town’s streets. That is finally about to change.
New Market Site Details
Thanks to a grant the city just received, DeWitt is planning to build a permanent home for the market. Instead of packing up and setting up tents each week, vendors will eventually have a dedicated space to sell their goods, rain or shine.
The new spot is planned for the corner of West Jefferson and North Scott. That location won’t just be a place to pick up fresh produce, it will come with its own parking lot, which means easier access for shoppers and room for food trucks, as well as bigger vendors to join the weekly bustle.

What’s Next for the Market
It looks like it’ll be more than just a place to shop as well. City officials are also planning to use the site to host special events and community gatherings throughout the year, turning it into a year-round destination where neighbors can meet up, eat good food, and support local businesses…
