DETROIT, Mich. (WILX) – Tim Staudt, the longtime sports director at WILX-TV 10 in Lansing, used his Gold Circle induction remarks to credit the people around him while family, colleagues, and sports personalities praised Tim’s professionalism.
Staudt was inducted into the Gold Circle of the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences — the organization behind the Emmy Awards — during the NATAS Michigan Gold Circle induction ceremony Saturday, Feb. 28 at MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit.
The Gold Circle recognizes television professionals with 50 or more years of service and significant contributions to the industry, NATAS and their communities. Staudt is in his 54th year of broadcasting and is widely regarded as the longest-serving on-air sportscaster in Michigan history, a tenure that has earned him the nickname “Dean of Sports.” He has been sports director at WILX-TV 10, the market’s NBC affiliate, since 1980…
