Consumers Energy offers winter heating help to seniors

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Consumers Energy is stepping up efforts to help seniors who may be struggling with rising heating costs during the winter months.

On March 10 and 12, the company will call customers age 65 and older whose accounts have a balance of $200 or more to review their accounts and enroll them in a payment assistance program. Postcards and emails will also be sent as part of the outreach effort.

In 2025, Consumers Energy made more than 20,000 calls to seniors, and the company expects to reach even more this year…
