LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Potter Park Zoo has announced the death of its Amur tiger, Vikentii.
Vikentii was 16 years old, which the zoo said is beyond the median life expectancy for Amur tigers in human care.
The tiger had been receiving treatment for age-related arthritis. Zoo officials said he experienced a sudden decline in mobility last week. Despite additional treatment, his condition did not improve.
