On Thursday at 1:25 p.m. EDT the National Weather Service issued a high wind warning valid for Friday between 5 a.m. EDT and 10 p.m. EDT for Midland, Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Tuscola, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties.
The weather service describes, “Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts 50 to 60 mph expected.”
“Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” states the weather service. “Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.”
