US-127 Construction Begins in Lansing Monday

A New Phase of the US-127 Rebuild Is Starting

The next phase of the long-running US-127 rebuild project is about to get underway, and work is scheduled to start Monday, March 16. This part of the project will focus on the stretch of highway between Lake Lansing Road and the I-69 interchange, running through both Ingham and Clinton counties.

Where the Construction Will Impact Drivers

The Michigan Department of Transportation says crews will start with preparation work before the larger rebuild begins. The goal of this phase is to improve the overall safety of the road and help traffic move more smoothly through the corridor.

Once construction ramps up, drivers should expect the usual mix of lane shifts, ramp closures, and traffic delays while the work is happening. MDOT says details on specific closures will come later, but it’s safe to assume the area will be a bit of a challenge during peak commute times.
