Each of the first three days this week have brought new accolades for Michigan State point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. On Monday, it was his announcement as a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award, and on Tuesday, he became MSU’s first first-team All-Big Ten recipient since Cassius Winston in 2020.
And on Wednesday, the first All-American honors rolled in for the redshirt sophomore, as Sporting News named Fears to its third team. Sporting News, which is one of the outlets considered for NCAA consensus All-American status, also listed Texas Tech’s Christian Anderson, Arizona’s Jaden Bradley, Alabama’s Labaron Philon and North Carolina’s Caleb Wilson are third-teamers.
Fears is averaging 15.5 points, 9.1 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game while shooting 44.3% from the floor, 30.9% on 3-point tries and 89.0% from the free-throw line. The Joliet, Illinois, native is the national leader in assists per game and total assists…
