Simple Blood Test for Early Cancer Screening

Cancer remains a leading cause of death in the United States, often becoming life-threatening because it develops silently. A new screening approach offers promise. The Galleri multi-cancer early detection test uses a simple blood draw to identify DNA fragments released by cancer cells. These fragments create a biological “fingerprint” that may signal more than 50 types of cancer, including many without recommended screening tests. Patients receive results indicating whether a cancer signal is detected and where it may have originated.
