Ypsilanti, Mich. — Michigan State lined up against Eastern Michigan on Saturday morning on a windy, chilly day on Ford Lake in Ypsilanti, Mich. The Spartans earned three wins in four races.
An equipment issue forced a delay in the varsity eight race, but the Spartans were up to the task in handling the issues and came across the finish line in a time of 7;10.7. The hosts were 22.6 seconds behind in an open-water margin between the schools, clocked in 7:33.3.
The second varsity eight also earned its first race win of the year, finishing the 2000 meter course in a time of 7:47.7, about four lengths ahead of Eastern Michigan (8:08.5)…
