LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – While the Ingham County Drain Commissioner says last week’s heavy rains weren’t even at the mark of a “two-year flood,” businesses tell 6 News they still struggled due to the high water levels.
Less than a week ago, Kalamazoo Street was almost completely underwater. The businesses in the area say they’ve experienced flooding before, but say the situation is actually getting worse when it should be getting better.
A co-owner of Steakhouse Philly on Kalamazoo Street said they’ve been on this corner for 59 years and they’ve never had water come all the way up to the building—until storm drains were put in.
