George Floyd memorial defaced in Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A memorial street painting of George Floyd has been defaced in Lansing.

Floyd died in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 25, 2020, after police officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee into his neck for more than nine minutes.

Video of his death circulated online and sparked mass protests that began in Minneapolis, which then spread throughout the U.S. and the rest of the world.

In a picture shared by Lansing City Council member Ryan Kost, graffiti can be seen written over the memorial, located under I-496 at Cedar Street…
