LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Capital Area Humane Society (CAHS) took to social media on Sunday to share an update after 36 dogs were found to be living with their owner in a car.
On Thursday, Eaton County Sheriff Tom Reich confirmed that the sheriff’s office, the Eaton County Animal Control, and CAHS had been in contact with the man. Reich said that the dogs were found to be healthy, not under stress, and were “very much happy,” in a statement to 6 News.
CAHS confirmed Thursday that after negotiating with the man, they were able to take 12 dogs into their care, including 10 puppies and two pregnant adult dogs. In the update shared to social media, the CAHS says they are now caring for an additional six newborn puppies, bringing the total to 18 dogs.
