LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — As the Clark County School District continues to lose students each year, some valley families are turning to homeschooling options — including community cooperatives.
Tiana Ross, a former public school teacher, is among the parents who made the switch. She homeschools her three children and participates in Colorful Geniuses, a K-8 extracurricular homeschool co-op.
“I was a teacher before I had children. So I taught in the public school system in LAUSD,” Ross said. “And just seeing how children were treated and how they’re, quote unquote, socialized. And just the academics, the stress, all those different things factored into us choosing to homeschool our children.”
