A teenage boy was shot to death late Sunday night in an East Las Vegas residential neighborhood, and the person who pulled the trigger has not been found. Patrol officers were dispatched to the area near East Sahara Avenue and South Lamb Boulevard at approximately 10:45 pm after 911 callers reported rapid gunfire, and responding officers found a juvenile male suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds.
According to Nevada Globe, the teen had been standing outdoors near the street when an unknown individual or vehicle approached him, and gunfire erupted following a brief exchange. Officers and emergency medical technicians on scene administered trauma first aid and CPR before the victim was transported by ambulance to the trauma center at University Medical Center, Nevada’s first Level I trauma center, which has served as the region’s primary public facility of its kind since 1998, according to The Nevada Independent. Medical personnel pronounced the teenager deceased shortly after arrival.
Shooter Fled Before Officers Arrived
The shooter fled the scene before police units arrived, and no suspect has been arrested as of Monday. LVMPD Homicide Section detectives assumed command of the investigation from patrol officers, and the case now falls under the jurisdiction of LVMPD’s Southeast Area Command, the report notes.
Detectives cordoned off the block with crime scene tape through early Monday morning while homicide detectives and crime scene analysts interviewed potential witnesses and processed ballistic evidence at the scene. Investigators recovered multiple-caliber shell casings, and the same account states that investigators are pulling doorbell-camera and commercial CCTV footage from the surrounding area, along with residential surveillance and area street-camera footage, as part of the canvass.

Investigators are reviewing gang activity, personal disputes, and robbery as possible motives, though no determination has been made public.
