LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — North Las Vegas police are launching a year-long crackdown on dangerous driving.
The department is joining a statewide “Joining Forces” traffic enforcement campaign running from Oct. 10, 2026, through Sept. 22, 2027.
Enforcement targets
Officers will be out in high-visibility patrols, specifically looking for seat belt and child seat violations, impaired and distracted drivers, speeding, and drivers who don’t follow pedestrian safety laws.
2025 crash data
Police said traffic safety remains a top priority. In 2025, 21 people were killed in traffic crashes in North Las Vegas, and officers responded to 59 major collisions in which someone was seriously hurt or killed. More than half of those crashes were speed-related, and about one-third involved DUI or alcohol.
Safety guidance for drivers
Drivers are urged to buckle up, use proper child safety seats, obey the speed limit, stay off the phone, never drive impaired, watch for pedestrians, and follow Nevada’s move-over law.
Guidance for pedestrians
Pedestrians are asked to use crosswalks, obey signals, stay alert, and make sure they’re visible before stepping into the street.
Funding
The Joining Forces program is paid for with federal grant money provided through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety…
