Motorcyclist killed, 2 injured in northwest Las Vegas crash

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A 24-year-old motorcyclist has died and two others were injured following a crash in the northwest Las Vegas valley.

It happened on Wednesday shortly before 6 p.m. near the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Sterling Springs near Cheyenne Avenue.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the rider and the 31-year-old woman, who was the passenger, were ejected from the motorcycle after it crashed with a Toyota Corolla. Police said the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Rainbow at a high rate of speed when the driver of the car, which was traveling southbound on Rainbow, made a left turn. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the vehicle.

The rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and had minor injuries, according to police.

A third vehicle was also involved due to motorcycle debris hitting the undercarriage. The driver also remained on the scene, police added.
