Residents in Las Vegas and surrounding areas should expect an active weather pattern to continue into next week, with shortwave troughs rolling through the region resulting in breezier conditions and seasonal temperatures. According to the National Weather Service Las Vegas, there’s also a slight chance for isolated showers in northern Lincoln County and the eastern Sierra today and tomorrow. By next week, a “slightly more robust system” is expected to bring cooler temperatures and gusty winds to the area.
A wind advisory expired as scheduled at 8 am today, following gusty winds this morning in the Western Mojave Desert. The National Weather Service stated that we will remain “somewhat breezy across most of the region today.” The Las Vegas Valley is forecast to experience shifting winds from southwesterly to northwest later in the morning before west-southwest gusts return in the late afternoon.
Looking ahead, from Monday to Friday, stronger and broader troughs are anticipated to move into the region which will likely bring a period of more widespread wind impacts and cooler temperatures.
