LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Kansas tourist involved in a “controversial” encounter with a Las Vegas Metro officer was found not guilty of battery on a protected person, her attorneys announced Monday.
Verlonicia Carr was visiting Las Vegas when police arrested her on charges of battery on a protected person.
According to police, on Sept. 11, 2023, Carr was at a kiosk near the Las Vegas Community Center attempting to charge her phone after being kicked out of her hotel at a casino. While trying to file a complaint against the casino, she was approached by a Las Vegas Metro officer…
