Bus hits, kills person on scooter in southeast Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A person riding a scooter was killed when a transit bus hit them in the southeast Las Vegas valley, police said.

Las Vegas Metro police responded to the crash just before noon on East Flamingo Road west of the Pecos-Mclead interconnect.

According to police, a transit bus was traveling westbound in the designated bus lane on East Flamingo Road when a 32-year-old man on a scooter came into its path. The bus hit the rider on his left side, causing him to fall underneath the vehicle. The bus then came to a stop, police said.
