Man accused of deadly hit-and-run told police his car was stolen: report

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The suspect in a deadly hit-and-run initially told police his car was stolen before admitting to being the driver of the car, according to court documents.

Seth Lyman, 31, is facing charges of reckless driving resulting in death and leaving the scene of a crash.

The crash was reported around 2:15 a.m. on Monday, March 31, near the intersection of Martin Luther King Boulevard and Vegas Drive/Owens Avenue. Four witnesses contacted police to report the hit-and-run, and fusion cameras used by law enforcement also captured the crash that killed 35-year-old Cedrick Lofton as he used a marked crosswalk to get across MLK.
