Las Vegas man arrested for tossing dog in dumpster says he ‘wanted to teach him a lesson’

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The man accused of throwing a dog into a dumpster told police he became frustrated with the animal and “wanted to teach him a lesson,” according to documents the 8 News Now Investigators obtained Monday.

Alexis Flores, 30, faces three counts of an animal-abuse-related charge.

Animal Protection Services responded to the call about an animal abuse incident around 9 a.m. Monday, April 14, at the 5500 block of Sheila Avenue, near Jones Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue. Video shows a man, later identified as Flores, grabbing the small dog by the neck and “forcefully” throwing it into the dumpster, investigators said. Documents say the dog’s name is “Marley.”…
