‘Capital Turn Up’ rally brings attention to bills that could impact formerly incarcerated

On Wednesday, Theresa Yancy Benson made the lengthy bus trip from Clark County to Carson City to bring attention to bills up for consideration, like AB91, or the Second Look Sentencing Act, which supporters say provides a pathway for a second look at previously closed cases.

“My husband, Frederick Benson, has been incarcerated for 25 years. I’m really here for my voice to be heard,” said Benson.
